Deb M Art – 4th Street Gallery

Deb McCahan

I grew up on the eastern plains of Colorado where I could see miles in all directions. From a young age I enjoyed the outdoors, admiring the vast flat landscape and flowering plants of the prairie. I moved to the front range where I am privileged to have a daily view across the plains backed by the Rocky Mountains. Walking and hiking provide inspiration for my work. Landscapes, changing skies and flowers constantly catch my attention and leave me awestruck, whether it’s the way the clouds are arranged, the way the light brings a scene to life, or a bee collecting pollen from a flower. Painting provides an outlet for expressing my gratitude for nature and the experiences I have been granted. I use palette knives to paint landscapes and florals in thick, deliberate strokes for adventurous people who seek energetic reminders and colorful images of nature’s ever-changing beauty. I paint to share inspiration and encourage us continue exploring both our internal and external landscapes.
