Candace Hutchison – 4th Street Gallery

As a mixed media artist, the energy of my art is expansive. I use conceptual visual language and metaphoric imagery to bring out what is key to the narrative. I choreograph perception through exploring the freedoms from constraints, tearing at definition and peeling the layers to see deeper within the story.

Rendered like a two-dimensional totem pole, my paintings offer potential and wisdom as the individual “communicates” with them. They are an integration of spiritual and practiced sensibilities. The challenge is to see beyond the distractions to capture uniqueness and truth of self. My expressive narratives become an invitation to dialogue.
